High quality M&E Services were co-ordinated, installed, tested & commissioned along with chilled cold stores and refrigeration plant.
The ‘Discovery Centre’ for Translational & Interdisciplinary Research is the latest addition to the College of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee. The Centre allows drug discovery and chemical biology to sit alongside mathematical and computational biologists and computational chemists bringing the best scientists together in an environment that facilitates scientific innovation and discovery.
The new Discovery Centre forms an extension linked directly to the existing highly sensitive Wellcome Trust and Sir James Black Research Buildings. A new enclosed atrium ‘Street’ between the Discovery Centre and the existing School of Life Sciences complex provide a place for meeting, collaboration and networking. It incorporates a café, informal breakout spaces and digital screens for data streaming.
The new build extension comprises over 6000m² of flexible medical research laboratories, associated office & meeting space over four storeys with a further two floors of plant rooms. The project achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Rating.
