Description
A new four-storey extension (Block E01) with a glazed link to the adjoining (E02) building and an associated plant room was constructed to the South & West of the existing Block B building.
The works for the construction of the new steel frame building included demolition of the existing single storey Block J and part Block B, along with partial refurbishment of the remaining Block B and associated external works.
Accommodation includes administration, science & research / IT facilities comprising mixed teaching & research spaces, undergraduate/postgraduate science labs, cleanroom, PC laboratories, project/meeting rooms, classrooms, online learning facilities, event/social spaces, staff & ancillary accommodation.
The project incorporated full refurbishment & re-modelling of an existing two storey structure adjoining the new four-storey structure.
