Description
This project included external alterations and full internal refurbishment of the existing dining hall at the SMUC Campus.
The existing dining hall and commercial kitchen were reconfigured and refurbished to provide suitable facilities for the provision of catering to staff and students including new kitchen, storage and servery facilities.
Works included:
- Demolition of existing internal block/stud walls to allow reconfiguration of internal spaces
- Full strip-out and re-fit of all M&E services to include utilities to commercial kitchen
- New curtain walling and windows/external doors and new flat roof covering
- Full refurbishment of internal spaces including floor finishes, wall finishes, built-in furniture, specialist commercial kitchen, internal partitions and ceilings, doors, etc.
- Complex M&E Services tied-into existing heating systems through live campus areas & plant rooms outside the site boundary.
The works were completed in a live educational environment while the existing buildings/surrounding accommodation remained operational throughout.
