This state-of-the-art facility for Queen’s University Belfast is home to the CCRCB Research Programme Leading cancer research for Stratified Medicine and Biomarker Discovery.
The research infrastructure is supported by expertise in core technologies including the biological resource unit, bio-imaging, tissue processing and bio-banking facilities. The CCRCB provides an environment in which clinical scientists can work alongside and interact with basic research colleagues in a variety of laboratory programmes.
The 5000m² purpose build facility has five floors comprising new research laboratories, write-up areas for post-doctoral research staff and postgraduate students, meeting/seminar rooms and modern administrative office space. The research laboratories are fully equipped with Category III Biological Containment Suite, Cold Rooms, Fume Cupboards, Safety Cabinets and Autoclaves.
This building along with two floors of refurbished laboratory space in an existing building house the research infrastructure for the CCRCB Research Programme for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases.
We were awarded a 100% Environmental Bonus by Queen’s University under their scheme which upon completion, awards contractors who have successfully maintained additional measures as seen fit to contain all dust, noise, dirt, fumes and other hazards on site. Our performance was regularly monitored by Queen’s University and scored on a point’s basis.
