Description
This project comprised the construction of the 3000m² Sterile Manufacturing Facility which houses the Regional Pharmaceutical Laboratory Service, responsible for providing quality assurance to Victoria Pharmaceuticals, the Belfast Trust and Health & Social Care in Northern Ireland.
The facility incorporates reception, office accommodation, seminar room, staff changing facilities, washrooms and related ancillary areas – aseptic suites, dry & wet rooms, autoclave, bottle wash facilities, laboratories, clean rooms, plant room. The project involved the construction, commissioning and validation of Grade A to D Pharmaceutical Clean Rooms (CAT1, 2 and 3) along with specialist equipment and systems including purified water, pure steam generation, fume extract, autoclaves and isolators.
Victoria Pharmaceuticals Sterile Manufacturing Facility was shortlisted as a finalist in the CEF Construction Excellence Awards in the Health Infrastructure Category. The project was also shortlisted for the Achieving Excellence Partnering Award – bonus award given to the entry with displays the best approach to partnering in the delivery of the project, shared by the Client, the Design Team and the construction team.
