Description
This new building is home to the ICT (Information Communications Technology) Hub and is part of The Maynooth University Institutes for cutting-edge research in ICT.
The new 8,000m² four storey building provides facilities for undergraduate teaching, postgraduate & academic staff research, a business incubation centre and associated stores and plantrooms. The building links with the existing biosciences and electronic engineering building through a new enclosed bridge at second floor level.
The building features state-of-the-art IT facilities. Its modern lay-out is designed to facilitate interaction and spur new research and commercialisation activities, with 14 ‘hot desks,’ 2 bio wet labs, high-tech conference rooms and classrooms, laboratories and informal conversation spaces.
The Eolas Building won the Award for Best Educational Building at the Community & Council Awards run by L.A.M.A. This award is shared with the Client Architect, Coady Architects.
