The ground floor which is open to the public accommodates the Tourist Information Centre & Exhibition Facilities along with the reception, kitchen/dining & toilet facilities.
Siteworks included external car parking, retaining walls, fencing, riverside walkways and paved areas, jetties and water features, site preparation, soft landscaping, planting and general site lighting.
The building complies with the Government’s ‘Achieving Excellence in Construction for Northern Ireland’ initiative for design quality and sustainability in construction whilst achieving best value for money.
The design for the building was awarded an ‘Excellent BREEAM’ environmental rating by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), one of Northern Ireland’s first ‘Excellent’ ratings and was awarded a RICS Sustainability Award.
