Tracey Brothers Ltd recognise the value of our team and understand that they are the fundamental pillar of our continued growth and success.  A testament to the trust and belief we place in our team is the number of long-term staff we have, many of whom have worked for the company for over 30 years.

We are committed to ensuring we have the best people in place to maintain our high standards of quality and collaborative working, to consistently deliver projects which exceed Clients’ expectations.

Tracey Brothers have a strong history in developing and facilitating the education of young people in the construction industry. Many of our current employees are those who initially worked with the company as a student.

Tracey Brothers offer Graduate, Higher Level Apprenticeship and Placement opportunities in addition to roles for qualified industry professionals, so whatever stage of your career path you are on, contact us to see how we can progress together.

Higher-Level Apprenticeship Opportunities

The apprenticeship route enables students to support their academic learning with real, hands-on experience, working on our live construction projects. Students will work with one of our teams of experts and will have a dedicated mentor to guide them and enhance their learning, giving them the experience and exposure to grow and work towards their professional qualification.

" Since joining Tracey Brothers as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, I’ve had the opportunity to gain invaluable experience across a variety of projects, each contributing to my development. One of the most valuable aspects has been learning directly from experienced professionals, gaining insights and skills that only come from years in the industry. After proving I was competent and keen to learn, I’ve been trusted with real responsibilities such as managing subcontractor accounts, preparing change order quotes, and procuring materials which have broadened my QS skills and boosted my confidence.

I enjoy the structure of the Higher-Level Apprenticeship, and the balance it offers between Education and Full time Employment. 1 day at Uni and 4 days at Tracey Brothers has worked nicely for me over the last 2 years, allowing me to apply what I learn in the classroom to real-life situations and equally working on-site has given me a real-world understanding of Construction processes, far beyond what a classroom alone could provide.

Tracey Brothers have been incredibly supportive and fully understand the demands of academic life. Looking ahead, I know that after 5 years, I’ll graduate with not just a degree, but with substantial on-site experience that will make me more valuable to prospective employers than someone who has followed the traditional academic path.

I believe the apprenticeship route offers unmatched opportunity for growth within the Construction Industry and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a career in Quantity Surveying. "

Graduate Opportunities

Tracey Brothers strive to develop and progress the technical and interpersonal attributes which our graduates possess, to enable them to thrive within the industry.  We believe in aiding our graduates to grow both personally and professionally, by balancing independent and supported exposure to the demands of the construction world.

" “During my first six months of joining Tracey Brothers as part of the graduate programme, I have gained valuable hands-on experience and industry knowledge. Working closely alongside a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a live project, an extension to an existing hospice unit, I have developed both technical and professional skills essential to my role.

My responsibilities have included preparing and managing subcontractor valuations for payment, as well as measuring and quantifying additional works for submission to the client’s Quantity Surveyor. This has strengthened my understanding of cost control, contract management, and the importance of accuracy in financial reporting.

In addition, I was trusted with overseeing building control matters on-site, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This responsibility has greatly enhanced my understanding of construction regulations, site co-ordination, and the importance of clear communication between project stakeholders.

This experience has laid a strong foundation for my career in quantity surveying, providing me with a well-rounded perspective on both the commercial and technical aspects of construction project management.” "
